Willy & Pepe

Lauren's Auntie Ja-Ja got a new Welsh Corgi puppy this week and named him Willy (short for William.) We all fell in love with him and his rabbit-like ears!

Ja-Ja has been busy teaching Willy to lazily lounge around go pee pee outside. I'm not sure he's getting the idea.By the time Lauren found Pepe (the new cat,) she had apparently forgotten the Be Gentle with Animals rule.

Poor, poor Pepe.

Goodbye Summer...Goodbye Diapers!!!

Today marked the last official day of Summer as I head back to school tomorrow. Instead of simply wearing black and sulking around like I usually do, I decided to throw a little party celebrating Lauren's hard work in potty training and say a final goodbye to the diapers. Here are a few of the highlights. First Lauren got all dressed up in her tutu.
Next she proudly used the potty
And washed her hands.
And here is a better photo of the expensive stool I ordered that still won't reach the sink, so she stands on the tippy top (non) step. How very safe no?
Next Lauren packed up all her leftover diapers to send to her friend K. (Dave, if you're reading this, don't be weirded out when a box of diapers shows up on your doorstep. We forgot to include a note :)
After all that work, it was time to watch an educational potty movie.
Let us not forget the delicious ice-cream, (Mama was too lazy tired to make a cake.)

Price Check on Isle 6 Please

Last week, a friend of mine and I took our little ones to a local children's museum. It was my first visit and based on the website information, I honestly wasn't expecting much. But as we all know websites can be misleading, so I thought it was worth a shot. I figured it was better than staying home and watching "Cars" for the 100th time right? By the way, Lauren loves "Cars" so much, she now refers to herself as "Lighting McQueen." For the record, my husband Michael is "Mater" and I am "Sally." Given the choice I would have picked "Flo" but I digress.

Back to the underestimated museum. We all loved the place! In fact, while we were there, I purchased a year membership for our family and signed Lauren up for a Fall Kindermusik class held at the museum. Lauren's favorite part was the grocery store. After filling her cart with food...
She was able to put it on an actual working conveyor belt while her friend C used a working scanner. The cash register even printed a real receipt. This is genius!
More highlights include painting a refrigerator masterpiece.
Dressing up as a snow leopard with Alligator friend C.
And let us not forget the unusually stocked sand table. I mean who really needs pails and shovels when you could dig for a flashlight, canteen and old fashion iron? Poor Lauren looks perplexed.
